Happy New Year - 2013

*** !!!  Welcome 2013  !!! ***

Beginning a new year is always so refreshing, and things seems new and attainable again.  So as I set to complete some tasks for 2013 (and things for 2012 too), I wish you the best and attaining and completing all your goals for this year.

With this fresh start of 2013, it seems appropriate to announce the color of the year: EMERALD!

I, personally, love Emerald and I am filled with anticipation for weddings, showers and other special events where I may showcase this fantastic color.  While finding a Emerald colored flower is next to impossible, accenting with ribbons, sprays, bead, and feathers and other items are possible.

Wedding season is in full swing, so don't delay... Get Planning!!!  And go green...Emerald Green!!!

Simple Thanksgiving Tablescapes

After months of absence from my blog it is time to get in the swing of things.  With Thanksgiving just a week away I thought this would be the perfect time to post easy, but beautiful, tablescapes for your dinner table.

Use a lantern, fill with candles and simple add  your favorite spray to top.
Could not be more simple, mini pumpkins and curly willow.

Use any rustic box, fill with a small bunch of flowers...easy peasy.
This is a bit more challenging, but very worth it!
Fill a vase with Acorns, or any type filler and  top with candles.
Rustic basket with mason jars, fill with candy corn and candles.

I hope this helps inspire your Thanksgiving table decor!!!!!

I have been quite neglectful of my blog, obviously!  So today I am creating some things here in the store and will be updating with pictures.  As well as beginning to show off some of my Autumn decorating inspirations ( I know it seems to soon, but it will be here before you know it).  So, stay tuned...

The promise of Spring

This umbrella "wreath" is a fun alternative to a traditional door hanging, and it looks really cute too.

If you just cant live without a wreath, this soft colored yarn wreath is simple, elegant and just plain pretty.
A fresh, soft bunch of flowers and a jar with colored eggs.  Easter and Spring all in one.
A cut crate full of flowers.  Perfect if you have a small space, but want to make a big statement.
More eggs and flowers.  You just cannot go wrong with this combination, it creates a nice visual for a tablepiece.

Can it be?  50 degrees on January 31st!  The air had the familiar and welcoming smell of Spring, and with it brought the urge to get out the spring decor.  I can almost smell the hyacinths and see the tulips blooming (well not really, but a girl can dream).  I love the fresh colors that this emerging season promises, as well as the change to liven up the dreary, empty feeling the house has since taking down the Christmas decorations.  This year I have some fun projects planned for my interior decorations (we will get to the outdoors once it is really spring).

Christmas decorating is so much fun!

Every year I long for the few weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's, so that I can dig out all of my Christmas decorations.  I start with the front porch and move my way through the house hanging lights and all things that glitter and sparkle.  I love the soft, romantic feel the lights give the house in the evening and how it reflects off the windows and other decorations.  I have so many favorites...I cannot begin to list them all, but here is a sampling of some Holiday decor ideas that we love.

Thanksgiving...where did you go?

I love Thanksgiving.  I love it's stressfree, casual environment and, of course, the food!  It seems to me Thanksgiving gets skipped over every year.  It is sandwiched so closely between Halloween and Christmas that it just gets forgotten.  Having a retail store myself, I see how easily it happens.  I will be spending the next few weeks getting the store all decorated and stocked for Christmas, which means putting away the fall items to make way for the red and green to take over.  Well, if you are like me, you will hang on to the fall decor to the bitter end.  That includes having a beautiful fall centerpiece to celebrate your fabulous Thanksgiving feast!  Check out some of the gorgeous table pieces I love.

Autumn, where are you?

I am really, really ready for Fall. It is hands-down my favorite part of the year. There is nothing more that I want to do than have a Pumpkin Spice latte, put on a sweater and boots, and watch my nieces and nephews go to the pumpkin patch (because my kids are grown and they don't find the pumpkin patch fun anymore). October is the most amazing weather in Michigan, with the warm days and cool nights the leaves on the trees glow in amazing colors of orange, yellow and red.

There are some amazing fall decor and entertaining inspiration out there, but here are some of my very favorites...
I am totally making one of these pumpkin wreaths...so cute!

How cute would this candy corn/candle centerpiece look on a front porch?  Just don't eat all the candy.
I have always admired monogramed pumpkins...so very adorable.
 Glitter pumpkins...enough said!
And of course MUMkins.  I cannot wait for autumn.
