Christmas decorating is so much fun!

Every year I long for the few weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year's, so that I can dig out all of my Christmas decorations.  I start with the front porch and move my way through the house hanging lights and all things that glitter and sparkle.  I love the soft, romantic feel the lights give the house in the evening and how it reflects off the windows and other decorations.  I have so many favorites...I cannot begin to list them all, but here is a sampling of some Holiday decor ideas that we love.

Thanksgiving...where did you go?

I love Thanksgiving.  I love it's stressfree, casual environment and, of course, the food!  It seems to me Thanksgiving gets skipped over every year.  It is sandwiched so closely between Halloween and Christmas that it just gets forgotten.  Having a retail store myself, I see how easily it happens.  I will be spending the next few weeks getting the store all decorated and stocked for Christmas, which means putting away the fall items to make way for the red and green to take over.  Well, if you are like me, you will hang on to the fall decor to the bitter end.  That includes having a beautiful fall centerpiece to celebrate your fabulous Thanksgiving feast!  Check out some of the gorgeous table pieces I love.

Autumn, where are you?

I am really, really ready for Fall. It is hands-down my favorite part of the year. There is nothing more that I want to do than have a Pumpkin Spice latte, put on a sweater and boots, and watch my nieces and nephews go to the pumpkin patch (because my kids are grown and they don't find the pumpkin patch fun anymore). October is the most amazing weather in Michigan, with the warm days and cool nights the leaves on the trees glow in amazing colors of orange, yellow and red.

There are some amazing fall decor and entertaining inspiration out there, but here are some of my very favorites...

Tell Me What You Think

I have been brainstorming and researching the numerous tools to market the business, and there are many.  But which ones are effective?  Which ones do people actually read/look over and then use?  What gets your attention, and why?  Newspaper advertisements?  Flyers? Door to door? Lettering on the vehicle? School newsletter?  Bulletin boards?

Being a consumer, I have to say that I rarely read a newspaper.  And flyers? maybe I might read it.  I do read the school newsletters-but that is because I have school aged children.

Funeral arrangement

Today we had the pleasure of creating an arrangement in memory of Mr.Paul Friedli.  We are pleased with the completed piece and hope that the family is too.  Many thanks to the Friedli family and Lake funeral home for trusting us to create such a beautiful piece to honor Mr. Friedli.
